Crystal Wang, Ph.D., is an education researcher specializing in evidence-based research to inform policy making, particularly in school finance. She has conducted extensive school finance analyses locally in Arizona, including an ESSER funding analysis with a program evaluation for high dosage tutoring programs in Tempe School District. Her dissertation explored how school districts use ESSER funds and how they correlate with learning recovery. Her current research projects include analyzing AI policy, particularly how course-level instructional policies regarding AI use are associated with student and instructor characteristics.  

Crystal has been awarded the Ascendium Postsecondary Scholar distinction by the Association for Education Finance and Policy (AEFP). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wake Forest University, a Master of Education in Education Policy from the University of Washington, and a Ph.D. in Education Policy and Evaluation from Arizona State University.
