Nicolas Pardo is a doctoral candidate in Education at the University of Southern California, within the K-12 policy concentration. His research spans several areas of education policy, with an emphasis on school finance and equitable resource allocation. Unifying his work in other policy areas, such as school choice, alternative schools, and LGBT issues in education, is a focus on rigorous quantitative methods.
Before beginning his doctoral studies, Nicolas earned his bachelor’s degree from Duke University on a full scholarship as a Robertson Scholar. During this time, he worked in an elementary school through the NC Education Corps, supporting academic recovery as students transitioned back to in- person instruction after the pandemic. He later interned at the NC Department of Public Instruction in the Office of Exceptional Education.
