Samra Chaudary, Ph.D., is a professor of finance, researcher, and higher education professional with over thirteen years of experience in teaching, research, student mentorship, and academic service. She currently serves as adjunct professor of finance at Herzing University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she teaches graduate-level business and finance courses. Previously, she served as visiting assistant professor of finance at Morehouse College, one of the nation’s premier historically black colleges.

Prior to relocating to the United States, Samra spent eleven years at Lahore School of Economics, one of Pakistan’s leading business schools. She remains actively engaged in advanced professional development and policy-relevant research. Samra was selected to participate in The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) North America’s Advanced Research Training in Evaluation, Methods, and Impact Studies (ARTEMIS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she received intensive training in Randomized Control Trials (RCT) for policy evaluation and impact assessment.

Her current research agenda extends beyond traditional finance and increasingly focuses on education finance, resource allocation, and policy evaluation. Samra is currently developing research examining funding equity within public education systems, with a particular focus on the distribution of financial resources between magnet and traditional public schools in Georgia. Drawing on school-level finance data, student achievement outcomes, and policy frameworks such as Georgia’s Quality Basic Education (QBE) funding formula, her work investigates whether specialized public-school models receive differential funding and how those differences influence educational equity, resource concentration, and student outcomes. By integrating perspectives from public finance, educational policy, and quantitative evaluation methods, her research seeks to inform state and district-level decisions related to school funding reform, educational opportunity, and evidence-based policymaking.

Beyond teaching and research, Samra serves as a reviewer for numerous international journals published by Springer, Elsevier, Emerald, and Taylor & Francis. She is committed to fostering inclusive learning environments, advancing evidence-based decision-making, and bridging research and practice to improve educational and organizational outcomes.
